Ellen's Frozen Yogurt Bars

I have a problem.

It happens in the grocery store frozen food aisle. See, my cart gets stuck in front of the frozen yogurt section. It get stuck. Seriously! The only way to get the cart moving again is by throwing a package of yogurt bars into the cart.

For two years now, this has been my routine. I love yogurt bars, two brands in particular, but I'm an "all are welcome" kind of yogurt bar eater. If it's in the freezer sections, I've probably tried it.
Plus, I only feel slightly guilty when I eat them all within 30 minutes of purchase (relax, there are only four bars total in a box). Since they are usually less than 100 calories per bar and contain protein and live & active cultures... that's not too bad, right? Ha!

Anyway, last week I was mixing a smoothie (hello swimsuit season... ugh) and realized if I threw it in the freezer I would simply have a purer version of my beloved yogurt bars.

So I marched on over to TJ Maxx and bought a popsicle mold for $6.99. $6.99. Do you realize $6.99 is close to what I pay for AN ENTIRE BOX of yogurt bars in the grocery store?! (*Shakes head in shame.*)

And I, Ellen Bryan, made my very own frozen yogurt bars.

Look, I know this recipe isn't revolutionary. You've probably made these already in your life and are thinking, "Welcome to this century, Ellen." But I'm telling you it took me years to get here. So you can't stop me from sharing it with you.

Ellen's Frozen Yogurt Bars

INGREDIENTS
Greek Yogurt (16 oz)
Frozen Strawberries (1 cup)
Frozen Banana (1 large)
Milk (1 cup)

DIRECTIONS
Blend all ingredients in a blender.
(Tip: add the milk first to help with the mixing process.)
Pour or spoon mixture into popsicle molds.
Freeze for 4 - 6 hours.
Run hot water over the outside of the mold.
Shake the yogurt bar free and enjoy!
Here's the other non-revolutionary fact about making homemade frozen yogurt bars. The types of fruit are very flexible. I'm even planning on trying to replicate my favorite coffee chocolate chip yogurt bars next.

If you try them, let me know! I would love to see your photos and recipes.
